Point totals are calculated based upon the following system (from their FAQ)
1. 40% of the score is determined based on the ranks of the players. Maximum points come from a low ranked player beating a high ranked player. Minimum points come from a high ranked player beating a low ranked player.

2. 40% of the score is based on the challenge type. An open challenge is worth less than a private challenge to a single individual.

3. 20% of the score comes from winners win percentage. This keeps players that just crank out the games from advancing out of reach of the thoughtful master.

The loser of the match gets 25% of this point total removed from their score.

A new season starts on May 9th, so if you want to get in on the action go check it out now
