This makes sense becuase the game is much more developed as a cultural concept in Japan. The Japanese always seem to up serve up novel/bizzare situations to use Rock Paper Scissors in their television shows. This makes sense becuase the game is much more developed as a cultural concept in Japan. You could easily play for the last seat on the bus with a stranger whereas in North America you might very well get a blank stare. What is interesting about these clips is how maliiable RPS is as a concept. Sometimes the focus of the action is on the RPS itself and other times it is simply used as a mechanism for some other purpose.

 

Yaquchi Yaguchi VS Tsuji Jankenpon! Two female celebrities battle it out and  play "loser gets bonked on the head RPS". In order to win this RPS you must win at RPS and then grab the plastic hammer and hit your opponent on the head before they can protect themselves with the helmet.

RPS AttackRPS Attack  A man excerts a vengeful attack after finally winning a game after sustaining multiple loses in a game of "Loser gets bonked on the head" style RPS. A classic internet viral clip.

Morning MusumeMorning Musume A bunch of girls in a televised RPS competition. They play lightning rounds in shotgun style to determine a winner. 

CucumberTwo TV hosts use RPS to decide who has to touch a sea cucumber. The game action overshadows the eventual touching of the sea cucumber which is a very much a let down.

Mini MoniMini moni – Yankenpyon Here is children’s song that uses Jan Ken Pon (aka RPS) as the theme. Typical Japanase addition of Pokeman type creatures are included.

BaroqueRPS Pile-on A Japanese group called Baroque engages in a multiple player game of RPS which ends up in a pile-on. Not particularly a great clip

Boy bands KAT-TUN vs Kanjani8  Two Japanese Boy bands go head to head in an RPS battle amongst a full house of screamer teenage girls. Once again the ever popular "bonk on the head RPS" is employed

Arashi6 Arashi members play what in the Rock Paper Scisssors world would be called Massivley Multiplayer RPS until someone loses. The Loser is then punished by recieving the dreaded dekopin.
